Christopher Brown

Olympic Hopeful, Inspiring Teammate, Life Lived at Full Speed. Christopher Chris Brown was born on February 29, 1996 – a leap year baby who would spend his life leaping toward greatness. Born in Calgary to a family of athletes, competition was in his DNA. Chris discovered track and field at age 8 and never looked back. By high school, he was breaking provincial records. At the University of Calgary, he became a national champion in the 400-meter hurdles, with his sights set on the Olympics. But Chris was more than his times and medals. He was the teammate who stayed late to help others train, the athlete who visited childrens hospitals in his spare time, the role model who never forgot where he came from. Tragically, Chris died in a training accident on July 18, 2024, just months before the Olympic trials. He was 28 years old.
